Overview
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Vijayawada, has released Notification No.07/2025, dated 22.07.2025, inviting online applications for direct recruitment to the post of Forest Section Officer (FSO) in A.P. Forest Subordinate Service. A total of 100 vacancies are available, including positions reserved for Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP).

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
- Should be of sound health and good character.
- Must fulfill the educational and physical standards as mentioned below.
- Age Limit: 18 – 30 years as on 01.07.2025
Educational Qualification
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Botany, Forestry, Horticulture, Zoology
- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics
- Geology, Agriculture
- Engineering: Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil
Degrees must be obtained from a UGC-recognized university established under a Central/State/Provincial Act.
Physical Requirements
Minimum physical standards required for the post are:
For Men:
- Height: Minimum 163 cm
- Chest: Minimum 84 cm (with 5 cm expansion)
For Women:
- Height: Minimum 150 cm
- Chest: Minimum 79 cm (with 5 cm expansion)
Note: Height relaxations apply for ST and specified communities like Gurkhas, Bhutanese, Nagas, etc., by 5 cm.
Application Procedure
- Visit the official website: psc.ap.gov.in
- Login using your OTPR number. New users must complete One Time Profile Registration.
- Complete the online application between 28 July and 17 August 2025.
- Upload all necessary documents and pay the fee online.
Selection Process
The selection process comprises two stages:
- Screening Test (OMR-based) – Objective type (if applicants exceed 200x the vacancies)
- Main Examination – Objective type (date to be notified later)
The merit list for MSP (Meritorious Sportspersons) will be prepared separately by the State Level Committee and integrated into the final selection list without a written test.
Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP) Quota
- MSP candidates must apply via SAAP’s notification.
- Selection will be made based on the merit list from the State Level Committee.
- 3% of total vacancies are reserved for MSPs under horizontal reservation.
One Time Profile Registration (OTPR)
- Mandatory for all applicants applying for the first time.
- Registration generates a unique User ID sent via SMS and Email.
- Keep your registered mobile and email active for OTPs and updates.
Documents Required at the Time of Application
- Scanned Photograph and Signature
- Educational Certificates
- Community / Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Sports Certificate for MSP quota
- Other relevant certificates (like Residence, Age proof, etc.)
Instructions for Candidates
