Online applications are invited for 500 permanent posts of School Lecturer (Agriculture) under the Rajasthan Education (State & Subordinate) Service Rules, 2021 for the Secondary Education Department.

Reservation & Carry Forward: Reservation to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS/Ex-servicemen/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) applies as per Rajasthan rules. Eligibility Criteria

A. Essential Educational Qualifications

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture recognized by UGC; and
  • Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject of Agriculture/Horticulture recognized by UGC; and
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from an institution recognized by NCTE.

Language & Culture: Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture are required.

Result Awaited: Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying degree(s) may apply, but must produce proof of acquiring the qualification before the competitive examination conducted by RPSC.

B. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Special Note: The post was earlier advertised in 2022 with age reckoned on 01.01.2023 and subsequently not re-advertised. Hence, candidates who become over-age as on 01.01.2026 are entitled to an additional 2 years relaxation as per rules.

Important: Age relaxations at points 1–11 are non-cumulative; only one relaxation applies (the most beneficial). After applying those, PwBD get additional relaxation per point 12. Retirement age is 60 years; thus on the date of appointment, age must not exceed 60.

Reservation Framework (Key Points)

  • SC/ST/OBC/MBC: If eligible candidates are unavailable in a particular year, reserved vacancies may be carried forward for three recruitment years; thereafter filled as per general process. Roster-based reservation remains unaffected.
  • EWS: If eligible EWS candidates are not available in Rajasthan, the posts will be filled as per general process.
  • Women (Horizontal): Vacancies for widows and divorcee/separated women may be inter-changed first; if still unfilled, they may be filled by other women of the same category; failing which by male candidates of that category. Women’s reservation is horizontal and adjusted first against the women quota within the category.
  • PwBD (Horizontal): If no suitable benchmark PwBD is available, the vacancy may be carried forward to the next year; then inter-changed among disability categories; if still unavailable, it may be filled by a non-PwBD.
  • Ex-servicemen (Horizontal): Category-wise horizontal reservation with carry-forward to the next year; thereafter lapses if still unfilled.
  • Domicile Applicability: Reservation benefits (SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS/Ex-servicemen) apply to bona fide residents of Rajasthan only. Candidates from other States must apply under General (UR). Out-of-state women who become Rajasthan domiciles after marriage are not entitled to SC/ST/OBC/MBC reservation in public employment per court rulings.
  • Outstanding Sportspersons: Eligibility and reservation benefits as per notifications dated 15.03.2013 & 21.11.2019.

Selection Process & Exam Scheme

  • Mode: Competitive Examination conducted by RPSC.
  • Pattern: Objective-type questions (all questions objective) as per Rule 22 of the relevant service rules.
  • Normalization/Scaling: RPSC may adopt scaling/moderation/normalization methods, if required, during evaluation.
  • Merit & Recommendation: Candidates found suitable will be recommended to the Government/Appointing Authority in order of merit based on the marks obtained in the written examination.
  • Exam City & Date: To be notified separately in due course.

How to Apply (Online)

  1. Carefully read the Instructions for Applicants, the detailed advertisement, and relevant service rules on the RPSC website before applying.
  2. Click Apply Online on rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in or login via the SSO Portal at sso.rajasthan.gov.in, then open the Recruitment Portal.
  3. Complete One Time Registration (OTR). For first-time OTR, entry of Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Secondary/Equivalent exam details, Aadhaar details and document uploads are mandatory.
  4. Candidates who already have OTR should apply using their existing OTR number after logging in to SSO.
  5. Important: After OTR, no changes are permitted in Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Secondary/Equivalent details, and Aadhaar details. Ensure your Aadhaar/SSO profile matches your educational records before OTR/application.
  6. Live Photo & Biometrics: While filling the form, upload a live photo and the scanned signature & left thumb impression. On exam day, a thumb impression will also be taken in the exam hall. Carry a recent photograph (dated within the application window) to affix on the attendance sheet.
  7. Photo in Aadhaar: If your Aadhaar photo is older than 3 years, update it before applying to avoid mismatch with the admit card verification.
  8. Enter all academic qualifications/experience acquired up to the last application date.
  9. On successful submission, an Application Number will be generated. Preview is not submission; ensure final submit is done and note the Application No.
  10. For any technical issues, use the Helpdesk Number / Email provided on the Recruitment Portal.

Application Edit/Correction

  • Within the application window and up to 10 days after the last date, candidates may edit permissible fields on payment of a ₹500 correction fee (online). Name/Father’s Name/DOB/Gender in OTR are not editable.
  • Additionally, RPSC will open a 7-day edit window ending 60 days prior to the first announced exam date (photo, name, father’s name, DOB, gender not editable).
  • Edits are confirmed via OTP and notified by SMS. No corrections accepted after the exam.
  • Divorcee/Separated women may use online edit options for category change only if the decree is issued by the last application date.
